Her journey
with Kujjana.
Understanding Structural Rules & Grid Lines
Riya began her journey by mastering human facial anatomy measurements, learning key proportions like eye-width spacing, facial guidelines, and nose-to-jaw alignments.
Studying Scale, Profiles, and Full Body Graphs
Moving into full-body figures, Riya explored figure drawing using head-count proportions for different age groups (1-year to adult) along with side and back profile angles.
Precision Line Work & Facial Expressions
Riya applied reference grid techniques to map out intricate facial features accurately, refining alignment and proportions for expressive portrait sketches.
Form, Shadow, and Skin Texture Precision
Progressing into realistic pencil shading, Riya focused on realistic skin textures, muscle structure, light source direction, and deep shadow blending.
Color Blending & Realistic Eye Rendering
Riya transitioned from graphite to color mediums, perfecting fine-line eyelashes, skin tones, and luminous reflections inside the iris.
Feather Textures, Contrast, and Brightness
Building on color techniques, Riya produced vibrant animal artwork featuring detailed feather textures, natural backgrounds, and smooth pencil blending.
Dynamic Lighting, Water Splashes & Emotional Depth
In her advanced project, Riya created a powerful multi-textured composition blending underwater lighting, splashing water, dramatic hand gestures, and environmental storytelling.
Look how far Riya has come!
From her first few drawings to the work she creates today, the difference is clear — more confidence, better skills, and a love for drawing.
